Helmsey

Michael Helms, known as Helmsey on the nationally syndicated Rick & Bubba Show has been with the crew for 15 years. His day-to-day includes on-air radio/TV personality, website/social media management and network admin. He was born and raised in Gadsden, AL, attended Glencoe High and graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelors in Business in 2001. He also played baseball for the Gamecocks. As a USPTA certified tennis professional he has spent 15 years teaching and coaching a variety of tennis players from beginners to professionals developing them to reach their full potential. He joined the UAB men's tennis program in 2022 where he currently serves as the assistant coach.  Helmsey is married to his wife of over 20 years, Amanda. They have 3 children, Brayden (17), Caroline (16) and Madelyn (10).
